What you’re going to do

You will play a crucial role in helping NN with its decision-making processes using risk profiles based on models developed by our Risk Modelling and Analytics (RMA) team. The scope is diverse and includes a variety of AIRB models (PD, LGD, EAD), IFRS 9, stress testing, pricing, liquidity risks, interest rate risk models, but also ML/AI models. Helping us to further professionalise in the areas of risk management and business sense also falls under your remit. In addition, you will be responsible for:

  • Writing high-quality, detailed technical model documentation, monitoring reports and data and model implementation requirements.

At NN, we see you as more than a colleague. We know that you have many roles in life. That’s why we allow you to select the employee benefits that are important to you - like the ability to buy additional leave days and work flexible hours. While officially based in The Hague, you will only be required to come to the office one day a week. In consultation with your manager and your direct colleagues, you can work out of any location at any time with the flexibility to adjust your working pattern to your personal needs on your other work days. You’ll also receive allowances for setting up your home office and for internet use. In addition, we can offer you:

  • A salary between €4,200 and €7,000 depending on your knowledge and experience
  • A 13th month and holiday allowance, paid with your monthly salary

You have a solid quantitative background with great analytical skills. Displaying a pioneering mindset, you can find practical solutions to problems. You have managerial ambitions and the ability to build a team by sharing your knowledge and capabilities. Strong communication skills in English are a must (Dutch is a plus) as you’ll be required to mentor junior colleagues, influence a wide variety of stakeholders and explain complicated subjects in laymen’s terms. Furthermore, you have:

  • A Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline. A PhD, additional qualifications such as RM, CFA or CQF certificates, or a second Master’s degree in economics, finance, or similar, would be an advantage
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience in a quantitative role in the financial industry and/or in a related research area
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements for AIRB models, IFRS 9 and stress testing (Basel III/IV, CRR/CRD, EBA technical standards and guidelines)
  • Experience with modern programming languages (Python, SAS) and their application in statistical analysis
